Valley Association for the Education of Young Children (#229)
Membership area:
Cities of Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, and
the counties of Rockingham, Augusta, Page, Highlands, Bath, Rockbridge
Mission:
VAEYC acts and speaks on behalf of all young children in the
Valley.
To fulfill its mission, VAEYC will:
- Provide education opportunities for adults who work with
young children;
- Advocate legislation at the state and local level for
quality educational opportunities; and
- Implement programs and services for young children and
their families.
- Promote professional growth of persons working with young
children
- Improve the availability and quality of developmental
and educational services and resources for young children
- Advocate for and promote public policy decisions which
improve the quality of life for young children and their families
- Support, disseminate and utilize research related to the
well-being and education of young children
Opportunities for involvement:
Quarterly meetings alternate between two formats, project-based
make it-take it and presentations from practitioners in related
fields of expertise.
