The Virginia Association for Early Childhood Education (VAECE) is an organization composed of early childhood educators, parents, policy makers, and other child advocates who are concerned and actively involved in serving on behalf of the needs and rights of young children. VAECE holds an annual conference to bring together these individuals in order to enhance the quality of education for young children. This year we will focus on the importance of social and emotional development for a child’s brightening brain. We invite you to share your ideas, research, and experience with others at our 2012 conference. Please follow the guidelines below to submit a proposal to present a workshop or seminar. Proposals must be postmarked or received via online submission or email by October 1, 2011.
Content Priorities
To provide a diverse program for our membership, the Conference Committee will consider sessions on topics such as, but not limited to, the following as they relate to the conference theme:

Guidelines
1. Display visuals, along with teacher and child created materials, are encouraged to enhance your presentation. Conference attendees enjoy handouts. Electronic handouts will be available online after the conference. To inlcude yours, please email them to vaecehotline@aol.com.
2. You are invited to submit as many proposals as you wish. Be sure to add a new dimension and title if you have presented the session in the past.
3. PRESENTERS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN A/V EQUIPMENT. VAECE is not responsible for procuring or paying for any A/V equipment used during workshops.
4. The workshop committee will strive to select a variety of quality sessions. Decisions will be final. You will be notified by the end of the year.
5. Presenters who plan to attend the remainder of the conference must register. One free conference registration without the banquet will be provided for each LEAD PRESENTER per session. If a presenter attends any food events, s/he will pay for the meal. If a session is presented a second time, you will receive a stipend.
